Hello, my name is Joaney Prinsloo, the founder and creator of TRIOS.
My passion for building this information platform began in 2011, when I started working in the funeral industry — a journey that shaped my heart, my understanding of grief, and ultimately, my purpose.
I spent eight years supporting families on the hardest days of their lives. I began in the front office, welcoming grieving families, helping them arrange funerals, and preparing service brochures. Later, I moved into the funeral policy department, where I witnessed another side of loss — the administrative stress families face while they are still in shock and mourning.
Alongside this work, I volunteered with a community-based trauma support organisation for seven years. I completed several accredited courses to ensure I could offer proper emotional and spiritual support where it was needed most, including:
Through this work, I supported families, friends, and emergency personnel in many different crisis situations — moments where loss came suddenly and painfully. Over the years, I served as secretary, vice chairperson, chairperson, and vice chaplain of the organisation.
Through all of this, one truth always stood out:
People are not only grieving — they are lost.
Time and time again, I saw families struggle with not knowing what to do next. Beyond their grief, they faced confusion, panic, and uncertainty about the procedures that needed to take place before a funeral service can even begin.
No one prepares you for what happens next when a loved one dies.
And I made it my mission to change that.
TRIOS was created so that every person has clear, accessible, step-by-step guidance — before loss, during loss, and after loss.
Practical support, emotional grounding, and a sense of calm in the middle of chaos.
TRIOS is not just a website.
It is a companion — steady, compassionate, and clear.
A way to honour life, even in the shadow of loss.
A way to bring dignity and peace back into the most difficult moments of our human experience.
A way to support you — all the way through.
